About Me

Hi there! Welcome to my page! You can call me Cat!

I am a traditional and digital illustrator, mixed media artist and fiber artist who enjoys making cute silly things.

I'm big on detail and my main focus is animal related art, trying to mix a slice of realism into everyday cartoony foolishness.

This here to your right is Melody Blackcat! Mascot and character of whom I identify as.

She says hi, and welcomes you to the page!

I. ENJOY. BEING. CREATIVE.

There is not a single waking moment that I'll spend with my hands not busy in some craft-related activity. Got to keep the mind occupied somehow! Don't think! Just draw!

Sitting at home? Draw. In class? Draw. On the go? Draw.

There's never a bad time to just be doodling away.
Digital art is a big part of who I am. Who doesn't enjoy the freedom of being able to realize your work to its maximum potential, unfettered by the constraints of material costs and, well, mediums not behaving in the way you'd hoped? (I'm looking at you, watercolour)

I would describe my digital style as having an oil-painting style appeal, as painterly is my goal when I'm working on a digital painting! On average, this style of work takes me about 2 weeks, with factors depending on complexity.
Traditional is where I started, and traditional is something I will always adore, especially watercolour.

There is just something about the colour complexity that can be reached, mixed with the risk factor of whatever put on the page being permanent that excites me.

This is something that takes patience, but something I highly enjoy!

Crochet and my obsession with fibers and fiber arts is more of a recent thing, having learned it in January of 2024 whilst ill as a way to pass the time. Naturally, it quickly became something I was obsessed with, as it made making soft animals straightforward and simple!

A lot of the Amigurumis I make don't follow a pattern; I make them up as I go along and experiment! A lot of them contain little itty bitty pieces that then sew all together, thrilling!

Depending on size and complexity, it can take me anywhere from a week to a whole month to finish a project.

This Melody head is part of an unfinished plush that I hope to finish in the near future. She was one of the first things I started after learning how to crochet, this was from May of 2024! The mini Melody at the top of this page is a plush i started and finished in December of 2024! My, i can see the improvement already!
